Dale Erwin

Finding the Strike Line & Working with Hammers

Ever installed a new set of hammers only to have dismal results in the treble sections? The characteristics of an incorrect strike line are weak sustain, choppy tone ,lack of color.

The best Hammer strike lines are rarely straight lines & many new pianos came from the factory not hitting the sweet spot.

Overall sound development suffers & voicing is rendered less effective. This common rebuilding mistake can be corrected with proper Boring, hammer shape, hammer location & your own finely tuned ears.

Other tricks & treats for getting the most out of your hammer job are all on the menu.
