Aspects of Restringing
From replacing a few strings in the home, to replacing a set of bass strings,
to doing a complete restringing in the shop, different approaches apply.
Isaac will demonstrate many methods and tools, ranging from what is used
in the factory to practical but just as effective methods and tools for the
individual technician. A compact tool kit and means of string storage for
stringing in the field will be shared with the class. By understanding
restringing from many viewpoints, you will improve your own approach to this
important skill.
Hall of Shame
You will have to attend this class to see the results of misadventures of
our peers. Isaac has transported many actual examples all the way from Southern
California. Amazing and amusing as they may be, we cant forget that
we all learn from our mistakes. For each misadventure we will need to ask
some questions: What was the problem facing the technician? Why did the repair
fail? How could the repair have been done properly?
